We celebrated St Patrick's Day with a long overdue COC soccer event at the Subway Soccer Centre tonight! It was nice to see so many familiar faces again along with a few new ones. The game was filled with plenty of exciting action throughout and when the dust finally settled, Green (appropriately enough) edged Gold 10-9 for the victory. After the game, we wore our St Patty's Day hats in the Soccer Centre Pub where we enjoyed some well deserved refreshments before heading home.
Tonight's "Player of the Game" award was presented immediately following the match to Steve Medhurst, who played a very solid game, scoring an important early goal to get Green on the board. Steve joined the club almost 5 years ago and has participated in various team sports including basketball, ball hockey, volleyball and of course soccer. He is a very friendly individual who plays hard while consistently demonstrating great sportsmanship. It has been a pleasure getting to know him over the past few years and I look forward to sharing many more events with him in the future. Congratulations Steve on your well deserved award tonight.
