Really hot day. We took the approach slow... great opportunities for pics of wildflowers and there were shade breaks along the way. Perfectly still day on the ridge so we lingered for an hour... a few even walked to the end of the ridge and back. We took the short but very steep way up and the slow zig zag meander down... well not quite. The trail along the ridge was quite lovely and enjoyable until we ran out of trail. After some trail searching, with no success, we did a short bush wack down to the meadow below the ridge crest. There were a few bits of rock on the upper meadow to circumvent then it was all meadow... but no trail in site. The meadow was easy enough to cross as conditions were dry and there was no shortage of clumps of thatched grass for solid footing. We picked up the trail again after we crossed over a minor drainage at an obvious crossing point and from there it was just the bugs to contend with. Not liking to have a trail get the better of me... I'll be revisiting Raspberry in the fall with a few hardy adventurers to find and take the longer zig zag trail up the ridge and flag the point where the trail breaches the ridge crest rock.
