Despite leaving Calgary under mostly cloudy skies, the sun broke through and the temperature soared just as we pulled into the Barrier Lake Info Centre shortly after 10am this morning. Although we were greeted with very high winds at the lake, we quickly escaped into the trees and enjoyed a very pleasant trip up to the lookout. With threatening clouds hovering just west of us throughout the day, we weren't sure if our luck would run out but thankfully the sun stuck with us for the full 7 hour journey. We passed just 8 hikers all day and had the lookout completely to ourselves for lunch. Overall a fabulous day with wonderful company (as always).
