Write Up:
Backpacking season has begun! We had a great long weekend at Glacier Lake, and while the forecast called for rain and snow, we had none of that and even enjoyed some sun and blue sky. We enjoyed great food, great company, not-so-great sleep the first night, but great sleep the second night, lots of laughs, and lots of talking. Apparently women speak 25,000 words a day and men 15,000.

Kudos go out to everyone:
- Raihan for getting his first backpacking trip under his belt - with a 70+ pound pack, which thanks to lots of training felt like nothing to him and he ended up taking more gear from others. He was also our cook extraordinaire, making shrimp, steak, and other delicacies.
- Verena for also being fully prepared for her first ever backpacking trip. Hopefully this will have created an addiction like the rest of us have. Waking up in the backcountry is great!
- Jana for keeping us entertained with the adventured of Curious George and being the master at filling marshmallows with Kahlua.
- Jamie for being the master at spinning marshmallows to perfection over a fire and for having the lightest backpack to start (29 pounds).
- Kevin for having brought his lightweight 12-person shelter and offering to bring this on our Nootka Trail trip. This tent will be worth its weight in gold if we encounter rain … except we’ll be blessed with sun (fingers crossed!!!).
- Paul for having the easiest filter to use and not feeling overwhelmed when we all started using it. And for sharing your last breakfast after your coordinator had 3 meals gone bad (learned my lesson to never pack after.
- Len for starting our fires and getting firewood.

Now on to planning more trips.
