Season 7 Week 15
Another great group of enthusiastic COC’ers gathered together at Vincent Massey Junior High School this evening to compete for the most coveted prize in all of COC sports, the Dodge Ball Cup and vie for the right to have their name forever engraved on the infamous, Dodge Ball Wall of Fame! Four team captains were selected and all participants were quickly divided amongst them. Individuals then gathered together with their fellow teammates to introduce themselves and come up with a team name. After a few minutes of team bonding, team names were submitted and the quest for GOLD began with the first of 20 round robin match ups.
Each team played 10 times to determine their seeding for the playoffs. Green Meanies lead the way with an impressive 8-2 record followed by Golden Rules (6-4), Blue JooJoo (4-6) and last but not least, Double Tap at 2-8.
In the semi-finals, both series ended quickly as the top seeded Green Meanies downed Double Tap 2-0 to advance to the gold while Blue JooJoo knocked off Golden Rules by the same margin to earn their spot in the championship final.
In the medal round, Golden Rules picked up the bronze with a series sweep over Double Tap while Blue JooJoo stunned tournament favourite Green Meanies with a tie breaker victory to steal the gold! Congratulations Blue JooJoo on your well earned Dodge Ball Cup victory tonight!
