After a slow start (where is the outhouse? why is this outhouse locked? where is the trail?), we had a fantastic ski day around Boulton Creek. Chris, Patti and I headed up to Blueberry Hill via Boulton/Fox Creek and back via Moraine. The lower trails (Boulton and Fox) had a thin layer of snow over crusty stuff, but once we got a bit higher the snow was really great. Neither slow and sticky nor packed and icy. It made for good climbing and fun descents!
We enjoyed a short lunch break at Blueberry Hill and some of Chris's homemade cookies, chatted with some other skiers (it got busy by the time we were ready to go), then whizzed down the hill. It was so much fun, bumps and all. We got a bit of air off a few of them, then had fun dodging them and lifting up a ski over them. Does anyone know what those bumps are called (caused by snow falling off the trees then melting and freezing??).
Thanks for the fun ski and conversation! Hope to see you again! :) If we do this again, we'll leave from Boulton Creek Skier Parking. Live and learn!
