Write Up:
Well, finally something to write(-up) about on tonight's ride. In general they were getting a little predictable (but still fun & pleasant), tonight tho...

Early on we got hit by about 12 drops of rain, but no one got cold feet (literally or figuratively) and we kept on riding and the rain held off for the rest of the ride.

Then as we were riding along a short bit of narrow gravel path with a hillside dropping off beside it. I heard a funny noise and looked back in time to see Michelle doing an endo down the hill with her bike cartwheeling down past her. It was a grassy slope, so a soft landing and no injures.

Next we were riding past the seniors village beside the path in Riverbend and KUDOs to Susan for seeing the senior lady laid out on the road and going over to investigate! She had 'fallen and can't get up' (twisted her knee) we talked a bit and she tried to get up but briefly lost consciousness, so we called 911 and waited until the ambulance got there. Susan got the attention of some of the neighbours, Marina stayed with the patient and did a great job of calming her and discouraging her from trying to get up again, other people went to a visible location so the ambulance could find us easily, it was a great team effort, Thank You to all!

And finally in the middle of a little uneven surface and some gravel in Quarry Park, Susan got to (unfortunately) be in the limelight again. No injuries but it was her turn to be sprawled out on the path. (She's in training for bike polo season, so she needs practice in hitting the ground hard.)

Thanks to everyone who came out, it was interesting night! With the 'incidents' we cut the ride a little short but still got in about 28km.

See ya soon,
Gord
