Whose idea was this anyway? Gorgeous October day. The car read 19C. Not a cloud in the sky. Thought Raspberry Ridge should be a nice shoulder season hike but instead we met thigh-deep snow! Left to my own devices I would've turned around and headed to the nearest brunch place but this was an intrepid group. Thank you to the trail breakers!
Fun was had, especially by James from the UK who has only been in Canada for 2 months. He had never walked in snow so deep before. We hiked about 3 hours before turning back. Snow hiking is quite exhausting but it was beautiful. The fire lookout will have to wait for another day.
