It was a little chilly when we first started but we warmed up quickly on the hills. Although there was a bear warning, the only bears we saw were the wooden carved ones that we sat by for lunch. We stopped for a lunch break at the Johnston Canyon Resort by the Market Cafe. Some of our fast riders did an extra 10km loop on the way back to the cars. It was a good thing we started early as the parking lot was packed when we returned at 1:30. We were a lot quicker than anticipated and finished the 50km ride in 2:18.
