Starting off later in the afternoon gave us the trail to ourselves. There was not much snow but you definitely needed your icers. The weather was very pleasant and it was not even windy at the top. We hiked up to the helicopter pad at the top of the trail. They were doing maintenance on the interpretive centre so we were not able to have our snack break inside. Some of the group went around to get a view of the city. The moon was still not visible at this time so we headed over to the trail to the left which had more snow and less ice. Once we got to our lookout spot, we could see the moon peeking out from the clouds. We stopped there to admire the beauty of it rising above the clouds. There were a few more adventurous souls who climbed the ropes up the summit of the trail. After the moon made its full appearance, we donned our headlamps for the trek back to the parking lot. It took us 4 hours and 25 minutes and we hiked almost 14km. We had the pleasure of introducing Tina to her first COC event. Thank you to Derrick for some of our amazing photos!
