Write Up:What an absolutely fantastic day we had yesterday — even with the wind
putting a bit of a bite on the morning session in the Kananaskis
practice area!
Julie from Full Circle Adventures is truly the best. She has a
wonderful
way of making everyone feel confident and accomplished, especially
with her unforgettable (and very entertaining) “animal” coaching cues.
We moved from gorilla to orangutan, grab the banana (then threw away
the peel — poling technique), hopped like jackrabbits, and some of us
even nailed the all-important happy baby rock-and-roll for getting
back up after a tumble. Along the way, she also shared great tips on
pole types and height, plus some helpful waxing advice.
After a well-earned lunch break, we headed into the woods in the
afternoon where things warmed up beautifully and we really got to put
our new skills to work. Lots of laughs, lots of learning, and a great
time all around — and don’t be surprised if a few of us follow up with
Julie’s upcoming “hill” session on January 17th.
