Write Up:We started from the Weaselhead Natural Area parking lot and followed
the Elbow River and continued along the slopes on the south side of
the reservoir. The trail offered a nice mix of rolling terrain with a
few short hills and steeper sections to keep things interesting.
We had an awesome afternoon out there — three of us on the trail with
Jake the dog keeping us entertained. We spotted a deer, a woodpecker,
and even a hawk along the way. It was a bit crisp, but the sun broke
through for most of the afternoon, making it a perfect day to be
outside.
Such a great way to spend the afternoon!
