Write Up:We braved the snowfall warming today and drove to Lake Minnewanka to
ski the Cascade Fire Road. We were excited to see the tracksetting
crew out and looking forward to some fresh tracks. Unfortunately, the
Cascade Fire Road was not trackset but the Bankhead trail was.
Bankhead trail was new to almost all of us and we enjoyed the 2km
warmup lap. On our way back we noticed the fire road was still not
trackset so we decided to drive into Banff to ski the Spray River West
Trail. This trail was trackset but it hadn't been done for a couple
of days making some of the tracks not tight. There were lots of
people enjoying this trail. The river along the trail made for
beautiful scenery. We skiied approximately 6km in and then turned
around.
