Write Up:
At this point in the season, a better title for this hike would be "Ice Climbing on the Douglas Fir Trail." I expected to find icy sections along the trail - but wow! I didn't expect the trails and hills to be COVERED in ice such that it felt like we were climbing ice falls. We cut it a bit short, and David B and Carolyn provided "good samaritan" supports to two ladies who were walking the trail unprepared. Several finished up the morning with refreshments. - Marg
