It draws millions of tourists every year; it is often crowded with throngs of people taking endless photographs; and today we were reminded of why. Eight of us headed to Lake Louise to do the Plain of the Six Glaciers. And it was spectacular. Although a weekday, the trail was fairly busy, but not really crowded. It was quite warm and we were fairly exposed, so when we found a waterfall near the trail, most of the gals headed over to cool off. Glorious - refreshing - just what was needed to continue on to the teahouse. We were able to hook two tables at the teahouse, where we enjoyed some of their offerings as well as our packed lunches. We decided to head on up to the actual plain. This is a 1.3 km extension, with an extra 85 metre climb - and worth the extra effort. The return was much easier as it was down, down, down. We were back at the cars by 4 pm, and back in Calgary by 6 pm. Thanks to all who came out and made it a marvelous day. In total, we covered about 15 kms and 445 metres.
