Sun, Nov 18 2007 - Bow Valley Provincial Park (View Original Event Details)

It's been years - actually about 20 years - since I was last at Bow Valley Prov Park. How does the time go by so fast? Today seemed like a good day to check it out - shoulder season is great for those kinds of hikes. We started out on a circuit of Middle Lake and then on to Many Springs, followed by the trail along the Bow River which then looped back to our vehicles. Groups of birds are hanging out and flying around the river right now, a pit stop for many on their migration to warmer climes. Except for the wind - which blows fiercly through this area a lot of the time - it was an enjoyable day and nice to get out for a few hours. I think next time this hike would be better done during the late spring, summer or early fall in order to enjoy the abundant wild flowers that I'm told exist here. Thank you Ed for your navigation assistance - was much appreciated.
