I've never hiked this trail before so had no idea what to expect. A "tangle of trails" aptly describes the Nakiska area :)
We turned a little too soon and ended up on the service road, and so were passed by snowmobiles coming and going throughout the ascent. However, knowledge that the trail existed was appreciated by several who chose to return that way rather than follow the rest of us back down through the actual Marmot Creek trail.

This trail could be worth repeating for a moderate winter snowshoe, and probably a pleasant forest hike in the early summer or fall. I've updated the elevation and distance for this posting, with many thanks to Ed who brought along his gps and recorded the information.
