Bowness Park has many trails, but the best one is the hidden, forested path that remains a local secret. The paved path along the Bow River takes you to this treed hike. Climbing dirt paths and stairs elevates your heart rate as you trek through evergreens. Take a breather and enjoy peephole views of the Bow River below before reaching the summit and the neighbourhood of Valley Ridge. Loop back down along the paved path or backtrack through the forest. The short loop passes through a Douglas fir forest on the south side of the lagoon. A longer loop passes under the impressive Stoney Trail and follows the Bow River Pathway, past Baker Park and Bowmont Park, before looping back along sidewalks through Bowness.
