PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED:Once you've reviewed the event details, and decided you'd like to join us, you MUST sign up at the bottom of this page.You will then make your payment for this event at the venue, NOT in advance to the COC.

You are STRONGLY encouraged to read this page in its entirety before signing up. If you'd like to attend, we ask that you abide by our rules and procedures as a time/cost saving process (with an end result of keeping membership free and lower cost events).

Itinerary:
We’re spending 2 days in beautiful Lake Louise at the hostel! Nestled in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, surrounded by majestic mountains, alpine meadows and gem-like lakes in Banff National Park. You'll go have fun with an activitiy of your own choosing, options at the park includes XC skiing or visit the ski hill. We’ll have a potluck dinner saturday evening, head for some pubbing after, soak in the Banff Hot Springs on sunday on the way home. We will be staying in Co-Ed dorm rooms at the Lake Louise Hostel, bedding is included. Bring Earplugs.

HI-Lake Louise Alpine Centre Facilities:
Lift, TV room, Self-catering kitchen, Bathroom, toilets, Bedding provided, Sauna, Laundry, Internet access, Café/Bar, Lockers.

AVALANCHE SAFETY NOTICE
You are asked to prepare for and be aware of the possible avalanche dangers in the areas you are planning on visiting. Note that travel into Class 3 terrain is a No-No on this event. Travel into Class 2 terrain will require clearance from the Safety Commitee. Violation of this holy decree will result in violators being placed on Hostel arrest and banned from further outside activities other than going home. Note:
- I will need 16 people to make this work
- Payment is due immediately upon registration. Choose from Email Transfer, Cheque or Paypal payment methods (see below)
- Should payment not be received within a week of registration you may be moved off the event and others on the waitlist moved in your place.
- If you are paying by cheque, drop me an email so I’m aware that it is in the mail otherwise I might bump you off. The cheque will have to reach me within a week of your registration otherwise your spot will be given up.
- Refunds are not possible after the cut off date if a suitable replacement for you cannot be found.

PAYMENT NOTE & INSTRUCTIONS:
Payment is due immediately upon registration. Should payment information not be received within 5 days of registration you will be moved off the event and onto the waitlist. There will be no refunds after the cut off date unless a replacement can be found. The faster you pay the faster you get on. Don't be surprised if someone on the waitlist gets on before you do.

Note:
- Cheques will have to reach me before the cut-off date otherwise others on the waitlist will be moved on.
- Refunds after the cut off is not possible unless a replacement can be found for you.

WAITLISTERS
This is a first paid first get on event. If you want to get on, send me your payment first and when someone on the main list does not make the payment on time you'll get to be moved up first. I won't deposit your payment until you get moved up.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Take HWY 1 all the way to Lake Louise . At the village 1st 4 way stop turn right, go across the bridge, it’s the 2nd building on the left, just after the Post Hotel. 203 Village Road

Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $123.75 (calculated at total Km * $0.33, effective Friday, May 15, 2026). This is based on $0.16/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Alternately your carpool driver may choose to split the maintenance cost plus the actual gas cost among all in the vehicle. Your carpool driver will confirm exactly how much money they require to cover costs. Please split the actual cost among all people in the vehicle.

Terrain Classification: Groomed XC or Downhill ski trails
Conditions: Will re-check prior to trip
Plan: XC ski on groomed trails around Lake Louise or downhill ski at the skihill
Note that COC event coordinators are volunteers and are not trained guides. All participants are responsible for assessing the current road conditions, current weather conditions, current trail conditions and current avalanche conditions for the trip.
