Distance: 110km
Elevation: 1100m

From the south winter gates (near Longview) we will cycle 37km and 600m elevation to the highwood pass and then descend 500m over 17km to the winter gates at PLPP. We will return the same way. The pace will be 24kph+.

After the ride, we will stop in Black Diamond for drinks.

map, GPS, camera, cell phone (note: no coverage west of Bragg Creek)
training and conditioning sufficient to sustain 25km/hr for 6 hours. We can do it slower if you like, but we're supposed to be training for the Golden Triangle or Century rides!

How to Get There:
Event Directions:From the Carpool take Sarcee to Glenmore and then 14st south. Take Anderson west to 37 street and head south. On hwy 22x go west to 22 and turn left. Follow the signs to Longview. In Longview, turn right on to hwy 40 and follow the hwy to the winter gates.

Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $78.00 (calculated at total Km * $0.30, effective Thursday, April 18, 2024). This is based on $0.16/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Alternately your carpool driver may choose to split the maintenance cost plus the actual gas cost among all in the vehicle. Your carpool driver will confirm exactly how much money they require to cover costs. Please split the actual cost among all people in the vehicle.
