This event is geared for people who:

* Have some experience indoor climbing
* Had already passed the Belay Test (see below)or had lessons and will take the Belay Test
* Needs to enhance basic skills
* Have some grandiose mountaineering or climbing plans in the future

Belay Test
In order to gain entry to the gym, you need to pass a FREE belay test. This belay test must be done at The Chinook Climbing Centre - tests at other gyms will not be honoured. The belay test requires technical knowledge of climbing basics. It is a TEST of your grasp of this knowledge and is not something that you can fake, "wing", or hope for the best on if you have not climbed or have not climbed in a long time: you will not pass. Please note that club members are unable (not permitted) to provide instruction. The solution - if you are new to climbing or need a refresher - is to first go to any gym in the city and they can provide a basic lesson to get you started.
