Elevation Gain:~760 meters Distance:~ 8km return Hiking footwear required, sorry no runners/approach type shoes or jeans.(: thanks Another nice day, +17, after today the temperature goes down, so come and enjoy maybe one of the last warmest day.This hike has you gaining alot of elevation in a short distance and takes you to incredible views of the Kananaskis Lakes Note about PACE: Coordinator is slower when ascending , MODERATE on descent and gentler grades.If you get bored with this pace pls DO NOT sign up. This is not a "speed demon's hike"...getting to the top in record time nor is it a "very slowpoke hike" If you're at the beginning of the lineup going up and you turn around and the last person is way behind you, then your pace that day is too fast and you need to slow down..one pace while ascending and that is slow. This area is heavily frequented by Grizzlies which means that we need to stick together and we may have to choose an alternate scramble/hike if there are bear issues in the area. Pls be flexible. Please note that this is an exploratory trip, therefore time may vary .
Required Items to Bring: -Proper hiking footwear and PACK (ensure your PACK is big enough to include extras -- a small bike hydration pack that only fits your hydration water system and small lunch is TOO SMALL...one should always be ready for the unexpected) =Plastic bag to put muddy boots in. -Extra pair of socks(keep you feet dry when your boots get wet from rain and wet snow). -Plenty of water ( 2L minimum, more if hot) -Lunch -Dress in layers -Mittens, toque (yes even in October -- mountain weather is unpredictable) -First-aid kit -Bear spray and/or air horn and/or whistle - NO BEAR BELLS Recommended Items to Bring: Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need. Gaiters (to keep scree and snow out of your boots) icers Hiking Poles (will make the descent much easier-can be very slippery if trail is wet) Sunscreen
How to Get There:
Event Directions:		Start at North Interlakes Picnic Area at Upper Kananaskis Lake. To get there, go west on Highway 1 then turn south on Highway 40 for approximately 50 km. Turn right onto Kananaskis Lakes Trail and follow the signs to North Interlakes Picnic Area and/or Mount Indefatigable. Prior to reaching the day use area there will be an intersection. If you turn right and follow the gravel road you will be going the wrong way. Stay on the pavement to the parking lot. Park at North Interlakes parking lot.
