Itinerary:

***Climb at the Sally Borden Climbing Gym***

Interested in a change from your usual climbing gym? Come and spend a day in Banff, climbing new indoor routes, enjoying a soak at the hot springs and dining on Japanese. All climbing levels welcome - there'll be something for everyone!

We'll carpool to the Banff Centre, where we'll go and climb at the Sally Borden Recreation Centre. http://www.banffcentre.ca/sbb/climbing/ Once our arms have had enough (2 - 3 hrs), we'll head up to the hot springs for a soak, before stopping to have some food (and wake up our drivers!) at Sukiyaki House (Japanese - both cooked and sushi available).

Belay Test

In order to gain entry to the gym, you will need to pass a belay test. This belay test must be done at this particular gym; tests at other gyms will not be honored.

The belay test requires technical knowledge of climbing basics. It is a TEST of your grasp of this knowledge and is not something that you can fake, "wing", or hope for the best on if you have not climbed or have not climbed in a long time: you will not pass. Please note that club members are not permitted to provide instruction.

The solution: if you are new to climbing or need a refresher, go to any climbing gym in the city and they can provide a basic lesson to get you started. Feel free to join us after you've made this initial step!
