We will cycle up to the Highwood Pass from the winter gate west of Longview. The return distance is about 75 kms. The elevation gain is about 500 meters.

Those interested in more of a challenge can continue from the Highwood Pass to the winter gate at Peter Lougheed park, which adds another 35 kms and 500 meters elevation gain to the trip.

Required Items to Bring:
A road bike or a mountain bike with road slicks
Helmet **No Exceptions**
First Aid kit
Gloves
Snacks
Water
Tire repair kit, at least 1 spare tube
A chain repair kit suitable for the chain on your bike
The proper clothing for the day, either wet or dry

Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $66.00 (calculated at total Km * $0.33, effective Sunday, July 12, 2026). This is based on $0.16/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Alternately your carpool driver may choose to split the maintenance cost plus the actual gas cost among all in the vehicle. Your carpool driver will confirm exactly how much money they require to cover costs. Please split the actual cost among all people in the vehicle.
