Itinerary:
Mt. Assiniboine Region is listed as a premier back-backing trip in"Don't waste your time in the Canadian Rockies". We will spend 4 days exploring this enchanting park and it's powerful sights. Day 1: Hike over Citadel Pass and camp at Og Lake.
Day 2: Backpack to Lake Magog, pitch tent & dayhike past Cerulean lakes to Nub Peak.
Day 3: Break camp, backpack to Naiset cabins where we will leave our food in the bear-proof food storage and leave our packs in a cabin, then dayhike past Gog lake, over Wonder Pass, to Wonder Pass the last night.
Day 4: Depart Og Lake early and backpack to Sunshine. Arrive by 5 to catch the last shuttle bus down to the parking lot.

When signing up, please indicate if:
1-You have a tent and how many people it can sleep. We will have to share tents.
2-If you plan to drive and the number of people you can take. Remember there will be camping gear!!

Payment: The cost for this event is $56.00 per person for camping fees and an additional charge for shuttle
You must pay in full when registering or I will have to move you to the waiting list.

Note: Your coordinators will not be dealing with funds beyond the original payment.

Should you need to cancel, an attempt will be made to find a replacement. If someone is able to take your place, he or she will be asked to contact you to arrange payment. If there is no replacement, you will not be eligible for a refund.

We may consider sending some gear, tents, fuel etc by helicopter on Friday to lighten our loads.
This trip is best suited to fit/experienced hikers. We will need to keep a brisk pace on the longer hikes and also to allow time for exploring. Also,due to the non reservable campsites, all participants will be expected to share a tent.


Required Items to Bring:

Hiking Gear including Rain Gear and Hiking Boots
- National Parks Pass, or $ for day pass (note: if you do not have a pass and are carpooling with somebody who has a group pass, it is expected that you contribute $4 towards the owner of the group pass)
- Hiking boots and bag for dirty boots
- Pack
- Water (2L minimum), food, snacks
- Appropriate hiking gear, including wind/rain shell, insulating layers, toque and gloves
- Personal first aid kit
- Your confirmation for Sunshine Meadows Alpine Shuttle
- Bear spray

All persons attending should treat this event as though you were doing it by yourself. If you wish to team up with another member to share gear, that is fine,but I will not organize this for you.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Head west on Hwy 1 (Trans Canada) and continue past Banff. 2km after the 2nd Banff turnoff, take Sunshine Village exit and continue to the far end of the parking lot. Meet in front of the ticket office.

Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $116.16 (calculated at total Km * $0.33, effective Sunday, July 12, 2026). This is based on $0.16/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Alternately your carpool driver may choose to split the maintenance cost plus the actual gas cost among all in the vehicle. Your carpool driver will confirm exactly how much money they require to cover costs. Please split the actual cost among all people in the vehicle.

Cost Includes:Camping Fees 3 nights & Shuttle bus to Sunshine Meadows Trailhead. Campsites in Assinaboine are pay as you come basis, $10/night. Participants must bring cash to pay at the campsite.
