Distance: abt 11km return(as per GPS) Elevation gain: abt 610m(as per GPS) Hiking footwear required - Sorry no runners/approach type shoes or jeans/sweat pants. thx The rounded crest of Forgetmenot Ridge offers fulfilling views. The trail begins with an initial steep ascent, however we will be rewarded with a scenic 3km alpine cruise after our efforts. The trail should give great views of the foothills and give us a great October workout. At this time of year we never know what we will encounter(snow and icy sections on alot of hikes now) therefore some form of ice traction is Reqired for this hike (MEC or Campers Village) or "ICERS" (Lee Valley Tools) are great TIP for NW members:. Please note that this is not a speed demon's hike(getting to the top in record time) nor is it for very slowpokes, we will be hiking at a Moderate Pace on flat areas and at a Slower Pace on steeper terrain going up. If you are not willing to follow this pace, pls do not sign up. If you're not sure about a hike, feel free to contact the coordinator and remember to always hike within your ability in order to be able to keep up with the group. If you have not hiked in the mountains before nor recently hiked with 400M+, this hike is not for you. If you're used to "very slowpoke-paced hikes" then this hike is not for you. PLS come prepared-we are no longer hiking in summer conditions, there is snow/ice on alot of the trails. | |||||||
