Itinerary:
IMPORTANT - Read:
   · Your coordinators like to explore, please be flexible.
   · We will be going at a slower pace, stopping for waterfalls, photos, and and an extended lunch if the weather is sunny.
     If you are not willing to stick with the group, do not sign up.
   · You must have hiked 10km+ at least a few times in the past year in order to attend. Your coordinator will be checking your event history.
   · Do not be in a rush to get back to the city.. We are out to explore and event duration may vary.
   · Only sign up if you are sure that you can attend. This is grizzly area and we are expecting a full group size.
     If you cancel 2 hours before the event you will be recorded as a no-show.

Part I: Picklejar Lakes
Distance: 11.4km
Trailhead Elevation: 1,637m
High Point: 2,200m Net Elevation gain: 563m
Total Elevation Gain: 750m
Just over the Highwood Pass a nice hike through meadows and forests to the four Picklejar lakes nestled in overpowering surroundings.

Note that this is prime grizzly area and bear spray is absolutely mandatory. If you do not have this at carpool, you will be staying back in Calgary.

Part II: Cat Creek Falls
Distance: 3km
Net Elevation Gain: 35m
Total Elevation Gain: 125m
Trailhead Elevation: 1,615m
Cat Creek Falls Elevation: 1,650m

Just a short distance further south on the highway lie Cat Creeek Falls. This is an easy 3km return trip with some spectacular waterfalls. We'll aim to take a stroll to these falls (feel free to bring your big camera gear) and have a nice break there before heading back to the city.
