Mt Baldy is an easy scramble that offers great views of the prairies to the east and Mountains to the west. A good level of fitness is still required to tackle this mountain. Please be realistic about your abilities and gauge them appropriately. Note there is an exposed 2m downclimb section to this scramble that you need to overcome.

Please do not be in a rush to get back to town as we may stop for a bite/drink.

- rock helmet (mandatory)
- sturdy hiking boots (mandatory)
- clothing for variable weather conditions (no cotton)
- plenty of water and food
- plastic bag for muddy boots

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Head west on Highway 1. Turn south on Highway 40 and then continue 1.6km past the Barrier Lake picnic area. At the 1.6 km mark, look for a rock cut and sign saying watch for falling rock. You can drive further down the road to an open parking area to your right and walk back down to the spot mentioned.
