| Itinerary: | |||||||
| Time to get out and ski! This trip is geared for: ** Beginner skiers who have either had an intro lesson, or have been out a few times on their XC skis and want to build their milage. ** Newbies with a solid downhill ski background who want to see what the sport is all about. ** Slow, patient novice skiers who are out to enjoy the day. If you have never XC skied, and are a non-downhill skier, this is not the trip for you, as there will no instruction. Skiers should be comfortable skiing along track-set trails with minor changes in elevation. There will be some short hills, and walking is fine if you aren't comfortable snowplowing. The pace will be slow (3 - 4km per hour) on this out and back trip. Distance will depend upon the group's pace, but it will likely be about 5 or 6 km total. We'll begin at the Mt. Shark Ski area and follow the Watridge Lake trail for approximately 1 - 1.5 hours, and return via the same trail. Please note that the trail was last trackset on January 24th. Should the trail not be in good condition on the day of the event, we will relocate to another trail of similar difficulty in Peter Lougheed Park. | |||||||
