Itinerary:

RUNNERS, join us for this run around the Bow River at your own pace.
Starting at the Memorial Drive Stairs (next to the Curling Club), we'll cross the foot bridge to the ramp, turn right, continue along the pathway to cross over the Peace bridge and run the pathway to cross 14th Street bridge - about 5k (or if you have a quick pace, you can run and cross the Crowchild Trail foot bridge - about 8k) and back. You can do intervals (ie 10's and 1's) or run straight through. Please note: dogs must be on leash at all times and be accustomed to running in a group.

HIKERS, it's preferable you bring a pack similar in weight and size to what you would bring on a day hike.

BACKPACKERS, this is an awesome opportunity to get used to the heavy pack weight! Remember the rule of thumb - maximum pack weight should not exceed 30% of your body weight. Really, really good training for your hikes/backpacking trips to come in summer or just to improve your overall stamina.

There are 120 feet, 167 steps, (~40m) of McHugh's Bluff to climb up.

Route #1:
There are 167 steps up the stairs (works the thighs a lot) and then walk down the bike path to catch our breath.

Route #2:
Speed walk up the bike path heading east and come down the stairs. Should feel it in the hips too if you go fast enough.
