Total distance: 21.5 km Total elevation gain: 880 m Pace: Relaxed This circuit, also known as the Emerald Triangle, is considered one of the best in the Rockies. The trail rises high above Emerald Lake and offers excellent views of the lake and surrounding peaks. See Trip 52 in "Don't Waste Your Time in the Rockies." We will start at the shores Emerald Lake, go east along the lake and ascend the steep switchbacks to Burgess Pass, then travel north along the Wapta Highline trail, at Yoho Pass we will take a side trip to Yoho Lake, then travel west along the Yoho Pass trail, and finally descend to the shores of Emerald Lake.
