*** Mountain Film Night ***
Season 6

MI CHACRA - Grand Prize Winner of the Banff Film Festival

The Mountain Film Night event series aspires to bring a collection of inspiring and entertaining
films in the style of the Banff Film Festival to warm up your cold winter nights.

Mi Chacra paints a vivid picture of one year in the life of a Peruvian porter on the Inca Trail and in his less luctrative traditional life as a farmer of the land as he grapples with the issues of giving his son a better life.

“Stunning expansive mountainous scenery with an intimate human focus... This is independent film making at its best; taking us far away...uncovering the diversity in the world that reveals what we all have in common.” — Stewart Nusbaumer, The Huffington Post

“Beautifully told... puts mountain life under a microscope.” — Eric Valli, Jury member, Banff Mountain Film Festival

“No stereotypes, just life, beautiful and cruel at the same time. I love the honesty of Mi Chacra and was touched by the patient and beautiful approach to this Peruvian reality.” — Roberto Forns-Broggi, Metro State College of Denver

Running time tonight will be around 100 minutes. Seating at 7:15 pm; show begins at 7:30 pm.

COST:
Admission is by donation of a non-perishable food item to the food bank on site. There will be a drop bin at the entrance to the theatre room for these items.

Also, the event does have two ongoing costs: the theatre rental fee and the screening fee charged by the film-makers, which varies greatly. After viewing the films, you may donate as you wish - $2 to $5 has kept us rolling thus far.

If you register GUESTS, you must use their real name and bring along a waiver (as per COC policy).

We have Cardel Homes' state-of-the-art theatre reserved for our private use.

- Food and drink are NOT permitted, with the exception of bottled water. DO NOT consume food in the theatre.
