This challenging trail ends in a scenic hanging valley below Mount Bell. We’ll start 8km west of Castle Junction on the Trans-Canada Highway, snowshoe through a dense forest of pine trees and a meadow, to reach this beautiful alpine lake surrounded by impressive peaks: Mount Bell, Panorama Ridge, and the tip of Mt. Fay can also be seen.

Notes:
Winter Safety Considerations
Entered by Peter Roseneck on Dec.16, 2013.
Terrain Classification: Class I
This trail is well treed for the first part until we reach an open meadow. We will not go beyond the end of the trail at the east side of the lake; or take the connecting trails to O'Brien Lake or Panorama Ridge, as that would expose us to non Class 1 Avelanche Terrain.
Note that COC event coordinators are volunteers and are not trained guides. All participants are responsible for assessing the current road conditions, current weather conditions, current trail conditions and current avalanche conditions for the trip.
