Itinerary:
First things first, this "little known" ski resort is a bit of a drive.. This is one of those "long day" events. Take note of this before you sign up especially if you have to work the next day.

All levels of skiers or snowboarders are welcome.

Terrain Classification:

  • 15% Beginner
  • 40% Intermediate
  • 35% Advanced
  • 10% Expert

You will be free to go along with others or break off and do your own thing for the duration of the event as long as you abide by this event's rendezvous time(s) and location(s) that will be finalized when we arrive at the resort.

  • We will be leaving the carpool at 7:00 a.m. in order for us to arrive at the ticket window around 9:30 AM. Please arrive a few minutes early so we can arrange carpooling and depart on time.
  • Skiing/Snowboarding activities have inherent risks involved. Rental packages now include helmets.
  • FYI, day tickets costs $69 only!, ski/snowboard rental package cost starts at $29/$35 payable at the resort (not to me). If you have a Lake Louise Ski card, you only pay $50!
  • The group will meet up for lunch at a time and location agreed upon by everyone - you are welcome to bring your own lunch or buy something on any of the dining facilities at the ski resort.
  • After the ski lifts are closed (4:00PM), we will regroup at the Day Lodge before heading out so that I can confirm that the group is still intact and make sure nobody is left behind. Please don't make your carpool driver wait for a long time!

If you would like to drive please indicate in the notes section how many people including gear you can take in your car. Try to fill-up your gas tank as well so there will be no more pit stops required from the carpool location.

    Required Items to Bring:
    • Lunch/Snacks/Drinks or $ for purchase of those
    • $ for lift ticket
    • $ for rentals(if applicable)
    • $ for carpool contribution
    Recommended Items to Bring:

    How to Get There:
Event Directions:Approx 2.5 hrs south of Calgary.

The location of the event is in Southwest Alberta around 30 minutes west of Pincher Creek. To get there: take Highway 2 south to Nanton. At Nanton, turn onto Highway 533 heading west. The turnoff is just south of the big truck stop gas station in Nanton. You have to drive through the town to get to the turn off. Stay on Highway 533 until you see a turn off to go to Chain Lakes. Turn left. You know you have gone too far if road turns to gravel. The road then eventually leads to Highway 22 which you will turn left onto and head south to Highway 3. At Highway 3, turn right which heads for the Crowsnest Pass. Once on Highway 3, there will be a sign telling you to turn off onto Highway 774 (North Burmis Road). This will take you to the resort.

    ** Calgary Transit Info
Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $150.00 (calculated at total Km * $0.30, effective Thursday, April 18, 2024). This is based on $0.16/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Alternately your carpool driver may choose to split the maintenance cost plus the actual gas cost among all in the vehicle. Your carpool driver will confirm exactly how much money they require to cover costs. Please split the actual cost among all people in the vehicle.
