Itinerary:
This trip is for strong beginners skiers and above.

We will split into two group, moderate and fast

Fast group pace - 7+ kms/hr
Moderate group pace - 4 - 6 kms/hr

We will stop in Canmore for drinks and snacks so don't be in a rush to return to Calgary

This is a spectacular area above Canmore past Spray Lakes. The National Team trains here

Facilities are bare bones here. There is no daylodge and only non- plumbing toilets and bushes.

There are several loops in the area and we will do about 18 km; exact route to be determined at the event.

Note to drivers: the Smith-Dorrien Trail tends to be snow-covered and slippery. Drivers should be prepared for winter driving conditions.

Required Items to Bring:
Classic cross-country skis, wax, warm clothing, food and water.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Take Hwy 1 west out of town. Take the main exit into Canmore (into town). Take main street through town. At the end of downtown, turn left at the big brown sign pointing toward the Nordic Centre and K-Country. Follow that road, and once you get out of town past the Nordic Centre, you will find the Smith-Dorrien/Spray Trail. Take that for approximately 33km to the road signed for Mount Engadine Lodge and Mount Shark. Continue past the turn off for Mount Engadine Lodge and drive for about 5km to a large parking lot at the Mount Shark Ski Trails.
