PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED:Once you've reviewed the event details, and decided you'd like to join us, you MUST sign up at the bottom of this page.You will then make your payment for this event at the venue, NOT in advance to the COC.

IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THE EVENT DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY PRIOR TO REGISTERING. SERIOUS APPLICANTS ONLY. WE NEED 10 PARTICIPANTS WHO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS EVENT OR IT WILL GET CANCELLED.

We are very pleased to inform you that the Calgary Outdoor Club (COC) will subsidize 50% of the Standard First Aid Course course which is great news. The total cost per person is $ 136.50 including GST. COC will subsidize $ 68.25 and each selected participant will be asked to pay in advance the remaining $ 68.25.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION/SELECTION CRITERIA:

- The Standard First Aid Course will be provided by Rocky Mountain Adventure Medicine and will include Level C CPR and AED training. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive certificates (course is approved by Alberta Workplace Health & Safety)
- "NO REFUND" available for the two day course
- Priority for the Standard First Aid Course will be given to COC active Volunteers, secondly to Premier members and afterwards to the regular COC members if unable to fill the course
- Offer for the Standard First Aid Course applies to ***the participants who have co-ordinated/ participated in at least 5 COC events from June 1-Dec 31, 2013,***as the winter months are typically quieter. Please do not sign up if you do not meet the requirements. Priority will first be given to those who have done outdoor COC mountain events .
- Offer would EXCLUDE social and/or volunteer and /or learn events.(Do not include these as part of the COC 5 required events)
- The COC Training Team will put all those interested on the “waiting list” and check the participants' history with the COC. Once the due diligence is done to check people’s history, the COC Training Team will send to the selected participants an email asking them to pay the remaining $ 68.25 within a certain deadline (exact instructions to be provided by email by the COC Training Team)
- Course will be taking place in Canyon Meadows (SW - LRT access) - exact location details to be also provided by email in a few days time to the selected participants
- The course will be taking place both days (Saturday and Sunday) from 09h00 until 17h00

PLEASE NOTE: If you need to cancel 72 hours prior to the event=you will get an automatic no show. In addition if you have a history of "no shows" or of cancelling events at the last minute, please do not sign up. We need participants who are fully committed.

The COC Training Team is responsible for providing educational sessions where members can learn about different aspects of the outdoors, specifically:

a) providing educational sessions to members
b) raising awareness about different aspects of the outdoors
c) increasing the members' safety while enjoying their activities in the mountains
d) providing everyone the opportunity to ask pertinent questions

Member Cost:$68.25/Person
Cost Includes:50% of the cost of the course needs to be paid by the participant. Exact payment instructions will be provided by the COC Training Team in due course once all participants are selected.
