This trip is not recommended for beginner scramblers. Please do not sign up if you are unwilling to stay with the group.
PLEASE NOTE THAT WHEN YOU SIGN UP FOR THIS EVENT, YOU NEED TO PAY WITHIN 48 HOURS, OTHERWISE YOU WILL BE MOVED TO THE WAITLIST. PLEASE DO NOT PAY IF YOU ARE ON THE WAITING LIST.
We will be SHARING tents - 2 persons per tent, one tent per campsite. NO EXCEPTIONS.
We will backpack in to the Hidden Lake Campground. Hidden Lake sets in an absolutely spectacular bowl beneath the rocky ramparts of Mount Richardson. Using this as a base camp, we will do two moderate scrambles in the area and backpack out on the last day of the trip. Itinerary:
DAY 1: Friday, August 1st
DAY 2: Saturday, August 2nd
Mt. Richardson is the highest peak in the Skoki area, and is an enjoyable scramble. It's right out of the tent door when we camp at Hidden Lake.

Ptarmigan Peak is a straightforward ascent. Near the top, a short and mildly exposed dip in the ridge adds variety.

Event Directions: | From the Lake Louise interchange on HWY 1, follow the signs for Lake Louise ski area, Northeast along Whitehorn Rd for about 1.5 km, then turn South (right) onto the Fish Creek Rd. Follow this road for about 1km. Park at the parking lot on the South. | ||||||
