Glacier Lake is a large turquoise coloured lake that features the immense cliffs of Mount Outram towering above and the icy walls of Lyell Glacier standing at the end of the lake. The round trip to the lake is 18km mostly through forest. Those who want to, can continue along the lake for better views of Lyell Glacier (how far will depend on the conditions and time).

Expect to be back in Calgary late, as we may stop for dinner on the way back.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Take highway #1 westbound to about 2 kms past Lake Louise overpass and head north on the Icefields Parkway for approx. 80 kms and turn left into the Glacier Lake parking area 1 km north of Saskatchewan Crossing. It is about an hour's drive from Lake Louise to Sask. Crossing.

Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $176.00 (calculated at total Km * $0.32, effective Thursday, December 2, 2021). This is based on $0.16/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Alternately your carpool driver may choose to split the maintenance cost plus the actual gas cost among all in the vehicle. Your carpool driver will confirm exactly how much money they require to cover costs. Please split the actual cost among all people in the vehicle.
