Elevation gain: ~1450 m
Distance: 23 km
Pace: Moderate

Plan for a long day. We will be hiking for long time in the trees with fair amount of elevation gain before the views finally open. We will be moving at a good moderate pace.

The views from the Helena Ridge will be rewarding. They will include Rockbound Lake and Castle Mountain (from above).

I am not a guide. Please prepare for this trip as if you were doing it on your own.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Head west on the Trans Canada Highway. Past Banff, turn North (right) at the exit for 93 south to Radium. A short way down, the road ends at Castle Junction. Turn right onto Bow Valley Parkway (Highway 1A). The trailhead is at Rockbound Lake, about 100 m ahead on the left.
