"The Plain of the Six Glaciers trail transports you into the heart of the Canadian Rockies' most famous postcard view and sets you down beneath the glacier-capped summits of Mounts Victoria and Lefroy. However, don't expect much solitude on one of Banff's most popular trails." (Ref: Brian Patton & Bart Robinson, Canadian Rockes Trail Guide, p. 92)

The trip begins at the shores of powder-blue Lake Louise, an unforgettable sight all-by-itself. From there we will follow the trail as it climbs steadily to the Plain of Six Glaciers Tea House situated high above Lake Louise and below the crevasses of Lower Victoria Glacier. We will continue another 1.5 km past the Tea House, to the look-out where we can take in the surrounding views of Abbot Hut and the glaciers clinging high above.

After visiting the look-out, we will return to the Tea House area for lunch - feel free to bring a lunch and / or purchase something from the Teahouse. (Note: It's Alpine tea house pricing and portions - plan accordingly!) :)
