"The Plain of the Six Glaciers trail transports you into the heart of the Canadian Rockies' most famous postcard view and sets you down beneath the glacier-capped summits of Mounts Victoria and Lefroy. However, don't expect much solitude on one of Banff's most popular trails." (Ref: Brian Patton & Bart Robinson, Canadian Rockes Trail Guide, p. 92)

The trip begins at the shores of powder-blue Lake Louise, an unforgettable sight all-by-itself. From there we will follow the trail as it climbs steadily to the teahouse situated high above Lake Louise and the crevasses of Lower Victoria Glacier. We will have lunch at the teahouse; where one can safely witness an occasional avalanche hurtle down from one of the surrounding peaks. Those who wish to continue another 1.5 km further, can take in the surrounding views of Abbot Hut and the glaciers clinging high above.
