Itinerary:
NOTE: This walk will include an unpaved trail with lots of uneven stairs. If you have knee problems, this hike is NOT for you.

We will meet in Bowness Park at the north end (closest to Bow River) of the first parking lot.

We will walk on the path along the river to the trail up to Valley Ridge and then return. The route will be approx. 6 to 7 km and should take about 2 hours. Bowness Park sustained major damage during the 2013 flood and was closed for ages afterwards. The park was extensively rebuilt and only recently reopened. The trail up to the community of Valley Ridge is a hidden gem in Calgary and will give us some views of the Bow River as well as a good workout.

We will be walking at a moderate pace on the flat section and slower on the stairs and uphill portion.
