Itinerary:
When selecting a hike, always remember to review the elevation & distance & hike within your own ability.
-Note that this hike is not recommended for members who have never hiked before.
-Hiking boots are required for this hike-sorry no runners or jeans.

Distance: approximately 14km return
Elevation Gain: approximately 500m

Trail: The trail in general is very comfortable, has gradual inclines with switchbacks over steeper sections. This lovely trail in once section follows an old pack horses trail. This hike will offer great views , with our ultimate goal of reaching the intersection of the "official" Moose Mountain trail which follows one of the mountain ridges. Please note that we are not planning to reach Moose Mountain fire lookout - which from West Bragg Creek would be 27 km return and in addition would be a much higher elevation gain.

Required Items to Bring:
No jeans & runners
-hiking boots
-ice cleats are recommended (in case there's ice on higher elevations)
-hiking poles(are recommended)
-dress in layers-appropriate clothing
-water/lunch
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:From Fish Creek LRT, drive south again on Macleod Trail & exit out of town on 22X westbound(Marquis of Lorne). If you drive by Spruce Meadows you know that you're heading in the right direction towards Bragg Creek Village. From 22X, turn north(right) towards Bragg Creek Village. In the village drive pass the shopping mall & on your left and within 1/4 mile drive over the Elbow river bridge. You'll reach a T-intersection just after the bridge & turn left (west) into the West Bragg Creek road, and stay on this road for approx. 10 km, or until the construction gate and the West Bragg Creek /picnic area/parking lot. This parking lot is 1 km inside the Kananaskis Country. We will meet in the parking lot, look for a white Toyota.
