Itinerary:
This will be an off-the-grid overnight in a remote-ish area. I'm going out again to have fun in the bush and you're welcome to come along to play. Focus is on fire building and cooking over a fire and generally have fun. We will hike in Saturday morning and find a suitable place to camp. Some bushwhacking and/or creek crossing may be involved. You will need to bring some basic tools as we'll be foraging for firewood, list is below. I'll be building a basic shelter but feel free to bring your tent.

Distance: Probably around a 14 km round trip
Elevation: 240M approx, variable, expect a few hills


Required Items to Bring:
At minimum:
- Layers for warmth and rain gear. Your clothing should preferably be amber resistant (i.e. it's ok to have fire amber holes in them)
- Whistle
- Bear spray (it isn't over yet)
- Trowel or small shovel (yep, no outhouses)
- Backpacking saw
- Food (mmm....food)
- Work gloves
- Usual backpacking gear

Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $49.50 (calculated at total Km * $0.33, effective Friday, May 15, 2026). This is based on $0.16/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Alternately your carpool driver may choose to split the maintenance cost plus the actual gas cost among all in the vehicle. Your carpool driver will confirm exactly how much money they require to cover costs. Please split the actual cost among all people in the vehicle.
