The COC Training Program

The objectives of the Calgary Outdoor Training Program in 2015 are to:
a) provide educational sessions to members
b) raise awareness about different aspects of the outdoors
c) increase the members' safety while enjoying their activities in the mountains
d) provide everyone the opportunity to ask pertinent questions

We are very fortunate to have Stephan Guenette, a new COC member to provide this presentation for COC only. Stephan has quite an interesting work history. He's been an 'adventure guide' for over 7 years, leading multi-day hikes into places like the Grand Canyon, AZ and throughout Whistler BC. Working for companies like (REI Adventures, ALA, MTS, AOA, WOA...). He's also a 2200hr massage therapist and medic. He's also taught the 80hr WFR course for nearly 4 years for Rocky Mountain Adventure Medicine, and now has a company called ***Mountain Med Online***.

This evenings presentation will focus on Winter equipment care/awareness, clothing/ layering choices, tent setup strategies, and selfcare skills.

Please only register for the session if you are ***100% committed*** to attend. If you have a few no shows or in the habit of cancelling at the last minute, please do not sign up.

Unreasonable last minute cancellations(2 hours or less prior to event) and no shows preventing others from attending the event will be recorded. Thank you for your consideration for other COC members.
