The COC Training Program:
The objectives of the Calgary Outdoor Training Program in 2015 are to:
     a) provide educational sessions to members
     b) raise awareness about different aspects of the outdoors
     c) increase the members' safety while enjoying their activities in the mountains
     d) provide everyone the opportunity to ask pertinent questions

Event Description:
This workshop will cover backcountry nutrition, cooking equipment, and the various types of backcountry meals. Morgan - our guest speaker, will help you weigh the pros and cons of purchased Freeze Dried Meals, dehydrating your own meals, and/or building your own Freeze Dried meals (bet you haven't heard about this one before!) Ask all those burning questions about perishable foods, how to dehydrate at home, and how to store meals a season or two in advance!

Morgan is co-owner of a company - Mountain Med Online (check out their website). She also has developed her own Backcountry Food website. Morgan has a passion for combining her love of medicine and the outdoors. She is an avid adventurer pursuing hiking, climbing, kayaking and skiing on a regular basis. She is a registered EMT in Alberta and also holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology.

Please only register for the session if you are 100% committed to attending.

If you have a few no shows and/or are in the habit of cancelling at the last minute, please do not sign up. Unreasonable last- minute cancellations (2 hours or less prior to event) and no shows preventing others from attending the event will be recorded. Thank you for your consideration for other COC members.
