We will be skiing at Ribbon Creek. It has changed greatly since the flood and it is much more difficult. Participants should be comfortable on hills. We will be skiing as far as we can, staying together as a group.

This will be an event that I would encourage those signed up for the Elk Lakes trip on December 12-13

This event is a "ski as far as you desire" event. You must be comfortable navigating trails on your own. The trails are well marked.

We'll ski the Ribbon Creek area starting at the Ribbon Creek Parking lot closest to the trailhead.

The exact route will be determined based on conditions, but the plan is to ski 15-20 km.

• Distance:~15-20 kms
• Time: ~2-3 hrs
• Moving Pace: 7-8 kms/hr

It is my intention to arrive at Smitty's Restaurant at 8:00 am for breakfast where COC members receive 25% off of their food bill. If you would like to join me, please let me know in your sign-up comments.

Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $60.00 (calculated at total Km * $0.30, effective Thursday, February 29, 2024). This is based on $0.16/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Alternately your carpool driver may choose to split the maintenance cost plus the actual gas cost among all in the vehicle. Your carpool driver will confirm exactly how much money they require to cover costs. Please split the actual cost among all people in the vehicle.
