Itinerary:
The location for this hike has been changed to Rawson Lake/Sarrail Ridge due to an unfavorable weather forecast for Yoho NP. Rawson/Sarrail is amongst my favorite hikes in Kananaskis and offers exceptional views from the top of the ridge.

***New carpool departure time is 8:00am***

The Hamilton Lake trail begins at the very scenic Emerald Lake. Most of the trail lower down is under tree cover but does pass by a cool waterfall. After about an hour or so the views open up quite a bit with excellent looks of surrounding peaks. The plan is to have a break at Hamilton Lake then continue along it's western shore to a higher plateau for more splendid vistas. Hopefully we'll have a glimpse of the Vice President or the President from there. I am referring to peaks not politicians. ;-)

This trip is best suited to strong hikers. This is mainly a hike with some sections which are off trail. We will be keeping a moderate pace for this hike. This will likely be a long day so please do not be in a rush to get back to town.
