Itinerary:
Monday morning post christmas exerciser. Nice little hike or snowshoe (depending on conditions but I'd prefer a hike) in West Bragg Creek recreation area. Viewpoints of the Rockies and meandering through forested ridges. We will be going up Ranger Summit then on to Strange Brew back down to the carpark. Pace will be steady uphill and faster downhill. After the hike, we can head for some refreshments if anything is open.
NOTE: Bring both Snowshoes and Microspikes. Trail conditions are unclear at this time. We will decide once we get there.
Approx. Distance: 9 KM return
Approx Elevation Gain: 310 M

- Snowshoes
- Microspikes
- water and snacks
- good trail footwear
- Additional winter layers as needed
- spare change of clothes
- bag for dirty shoes
- first aid kit

How to Get There:
Event Directions:DIRECTIONS FROM CARPOOL:Head south on Sarcee Trail then follow Highway 8 west out of town. Hit the roundabout at Highway 22 and head south towards Bragg Creek. Before the stop sign at Bragg and before the Shell gas station, turn right into Balsam Ave. Go pass the mall on your left and at the bridge, turn left at the T junction. Continue for approx. 10 km till the end of the road and you'll reach West Bragg Creek /picnic area/parking lot. Park on the far end of the parking lot.

Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $30.00 (calculated at total Km * $0.30, effective Thursday, April 18, 2024). This is based on $0.16/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Alternately your carpool driver may choose to split the maintenance cost plus the actual gas cost among all in the vehicle. Your carpool driver will confirm exactly how much money they require to cover costs. Please split the actual cost among all people in the vehicle.
