Elevation Gain: ~400 meters

This event is for experienced moderate pace skiers. You must be comfortable climbing and descending long / steep hills.

The moving pace will be 7 to 8 kms/hr.

The distance will be ~20 kms and we will only take short breaks in order to regroup.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Take Hwy 1 west out of town to Hwy 40. Go south on Hwy 40 for approx 56km. Turn right just before the winter gate. The Boulton Trading Post parking lot is PAST Pocaterra and Elkwood. See Peter Lougheed Map.

Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $59.40 (calculated at total Km * $0.22, effective Monday, October 16, 2017). This is based on $0.12/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Alternately your carpool driver may choose to split the maintenance cost plus the actual gas cost among all in the vehicle. Your carpool driver will confirm exactly how much money they require to cover costs. Please split the actual cost among all people in the vehicle.

Terrain Classification: This event is exempted from avalanche planning because the event will be held on groomed XC ski trails. In the event that an avalanche advisory is issued for the area during our event, the event will either be relocated to an unaffected trail system, or cancelled.

Note: COC event coordinators are volunteers and are not trained guides.
